boxer mix puppies up for adoption...they are 5 weeks old.....there is a litter of 7 of them...they need a home soon otherwise they will have to go to the freeport animal shelter :( let me know if you are interested....
also, don't mean to be annoying but i'm a big dog rescue person (i've fostered and adopted and had dogs my whole life)...isn't 5 weeks to early for them to be weened from their mother? the earliest that is healthy i believe is 7-8 weeks, and some breeders even say 9-10 weeks...
what are the circumstances? try putting them up on petfinder.com, and i'll start asking around too! i would take one or even two by my guy is sick and puppies without shots and stuff are so susceptible they would catch it quickly and it wouldnt be good.

im not sure on the whole story actually- my sils firend on facebook has them-- im trying to get more info...and yes 5 weeks are early but not sure what happened to the mama,....awee. they are so cute...if i didnt have two puppies of my own i would totally take one.. :)

oh your killing me; I have a Pit and love this damn dog to death! Let me talk to FH....Also, I breed, raised and professionally showed dogs for 15 years and weaning a puppy at 5 weeks is not terrible for them. A puppy should be weaned at 6-7 weeks with one nursing from the mother a day but that is generally for the mother's sake since she will get lactic build-up from not being nursed. Just an FYI

Oh my gosh! I wish DH would let us get another one! So cute! Warning to anyone who may be thinking about getting one. Boxers are extremely HIGH ENERGY and are very attention needy. Also, my boxer is very destructive when left alone - DH says it's because I baby him too much when we're around him. Good luck, I hope they all find great homes!

Pit bulls have a horrible reputation!! They are a product of how they are raised!!!!!
I would take a puppy, however, I have a male GSD, male Boxer and an un-neutered male PIT BULL!!!!! He is such a mush. He cuddles and spoons better (and with no complaining) than FH does.
It really irritates me when people generalize their feelings over an entire breed.
PS I'm not only a teacher, I'm a dog trainer too!!

Very true about the energy level of Boxers. We lucked out and got a purebreed reverse brindle boxer from Bide A Wee Westhampton because the owner claimed the nine month old pup knocked over his 4 year old and the wife flipped out. They are not as high energy as say a Jack Russell, but they do require exercise.
Circuit LOVES to pull things off of counters or grab a bag of garbage and examine it. I blame FH for not teaching him the rules of the house. Rigel, the GSD who was here first, wouldn't even think of it and when I come home will be laying down, ears back, letting me know that Circuit was once again a bad boy.

i second petfinder.com. whatever you do, make sure that the Freeport shelter is a no-kill place. if it is, they'll start at a disadvantage since they are part pit. poor babies---pits get such a bad rap. if you bring them to a petfinder.com-friendly shelter, they will likely go like hotcakes since they are puppies and that's what most people want. good luck. please make sure its a no-kill...

I feel the same way; I have a pit bull and she is the mushiest dog i have ever owned. I have raised and breed over 35 (yes 35) labradors and she is so much more well behaved...it's how you train them!!

i agree 100%. we had one and she was the most loyal dog we ever had. would never leave my side. And to be honest any dog can turn on someone, my chocolate lab turned on our whole family and to be put down. But it depends on how they are rasied!
