what gift did you recieve that you really enjoyed or used daily?
I have three girls (thats including my MOH) and they have three divergent styles and tastes so I am under no assumption that i could get one thing for all three.
what have you gotten as a bm, or for that matter as any gift, that was unexpected but handy or ended being used all the time.
Not that i dont think they would be cute, but no monogrammed bags etc as this is not my bms' style.
all other suggestions welcomed!

It depends on your budget and taste. I once got a certificate for massage (I can't afford this back). Another girl got us all spa pedicures, manicures, and lunch a few days before wedding.

I got my girls their day of jewelry, their pashmina's and then I went & got them each a LeSport Sac bag. I had 7 girls with different styles and tastes and with LeSport Sac I was able to choose a different design for each and they loved them.

My best friend got us all our DOJ. Everyone got the same necklace, but each person got a different par of earring to reflect their personality that all coordinated with the necklace.
I LOVE the necklace, and the clip-on earrings she picked out for me. She has fabulous taste!

I got a really nice picture frame which i used... a little package of body lotions etc etc which i never used... and a engraved bookmark which i never really used but appreciated from my SIL...
I got a pashmina scarf from my sister which i use all the time.
I'm getting each of my bridesmaids this figurine:
and I am making them each a shadowbox with pictures of us in it and a space for a photo from my wedding...
Im going to go to Filenes Basement and see if I can find some nice scarves or maybe pottery barn and find some nice frames...
This clock is ALWAYS a big hit: (the smaller clock which is for about 25.00) I would get them for my BMs but I *know* my sister and SIL already have one!!!

i got DOJ , but it can be worn at any time. also got a gift certificate to a steak house once. it was very suprising, but i loved it!!!

My friend bought us all wooden jewelry boxes with a glass top that had our initial engraved on it. It's from Pottery barn and huge. It was really nice and I have all my jewelry in it now on my dresser.

It depends on what you want to spend. My best gift was actually just in June. I was the MOH and got a Tiffany necklace & bracelet. But the rest of the BM's just got the bracelet. I loved it!!!

I received a nice watch as a bridesmaid. The bride bought a different style watch (in the same price rancge) for each bridesmaid.. each reflecting the style of that particular bridesmaid. And watches can be for any budget.. I've seen nice fossil watches start at like $30 on sale at places like Kohls or Macy's.. and you could obviously spend way over that up to whatever your own budget is..

I got the Rabbit wine bottle opener for the 1st wedding I was in. BEST gift I ever got. 2nd wedding- I got a watch once which at first I didn't like, but then the watch i was wearing broke so I was glad I had a back-up. After I wore it a few times it grew on me and I ended up loving it. 3rd wedding- I got a monogrammed makeup case that I still use (I keep it in my huge bag) along with an engraved sterling silver mirror/compact that I never even opened, it was pretty, just had no use for it which is a shame. And the last wedding I was in she got us our DOJ. I might be alone in this but i hate getting jewelry. It was TOTALLY not my style at all and I really hated having to wear it. For this reason I'm not getting my girls DOJ as even though I know them well, I want them to wear jewelry that they like. The jewelry though was given to us in a really cute small jewelry box which I still use every day. She also paid for mani/pedis for us the day before which was great. ETA: She put all of these things in tote bags w/our names on them that I hated. They were ugly (sorry if that's cold but they were). I threw it in the bottom of my closet when I got home and it hasn't seen the light of day since.
There's another wedding I was in that I can't remember what I got. Hope that helps!

The only one I got that I really liked was a beautiful jewelry box from Bombay and a simple pearl bracelet.
Most of the gifts were so generic, I don't remember them at all.

ooh, thanks for all the good ideas.... watches and the rabbit wine opener (we've been known to have a glass or 14 on occassion) are both contenders.

I second the watch idea. I never wear one but a good friend from college gave them as BM gifts and i wear it whenever i dress up. She got each of us a different one in a really cute little purse that was perfect for carrying the day of the wedding.

day of jewelry and one bride gave all of us the matching wrap to go with our BM dress monogrammed with our initials. it was great to have that day and it was a dress that i wore several times after the wedding for other functions and i loved having the wrap
