What time did you book the church ? Went yesterday and the priest gave me the earliest 3:00p.m. I'm hoping I will be able to go somewhere after for pics (park) by JT and make it to my cocktail hr. Did I mention Im coming from Staten Island. Yikessss ?!?! Or am I just an anxious person ? lol

well, i have an evening ceremony but i'm having everything at JT. r u getting married in Staten Island? if so then maybe u can just come straight out to LI after. u don't want to get mixed up with after work gridlock, u know?
I'm getting married in Staten Island at 3 I wanted to take pics in the church. I have no choice but to run to Long Island. But I wish the priest was ok with 2 pm I would feel so much better. Im debating on going to see another church to see what they say.

my church is at 3:30pm...my reception starts at 7:30. But the church and RH are only like 20 mins apart from eachother

i know...if u had that xtra hr, it would help. i am considering taking pics at the promenade b4 the ceremony with justthe gals and then hightailing it to JT for my 7:30 cermeony! i'm just nervous about the traffic around the 5 oclock hour.

I think my ceremony is going to be at 5 then my reception starts at 8. I wanted to give guests time to arrive.

My church is also at 4:30 and cocktail hour starts at 7:00.

our church gave us 4:00 which is great for photos and what not, but ***** for the guests. We couldn't do any other time otherwise we would have made it a bit later

Our church booked us for 4pm for our Friday wedding. Reception was at 8:30 about 45 minutes away from the church.
I thought it was a big gap, but we started about 20 minutes late, the ceremony was an hour, then pics etc. Long story short, I never even made it to my cocktail hour!!! Time FLIES on the day of!

we are getting married at JT and we live in staten island as well - we felt it was too much to get married on the island and then drive all the way to JT on a friday - the biggest reason was b/c i didnt want to be sitting for at least 40 minutes in my dress during the limo ride to JT - im afraid of getting wrinkly ...im just too nervous and would be so worried if there was trafffic - i dont want to be late to my own wedding and not have time for pictures....since we werent feeling a church ceremony anyway we decided it would be so much more conveinent for us and our guests if we just got married at the RH.....if you are dead set on church make sure you leave enough time for traveling - you never know if there is bad weather, an accident, regular friday afternoon traffic which is always more than during the week, etc. etc. id also make sure that whatever gown you get wont get wrinkly during the car ride....it would probably be best if your church is close the verrazzano - then you can take pictures in staten island by the bride if you wanted and you are closer to JT.....

LOL I am laughing bc we had the same problem. We booked the church for 3 and our cocktail hour starts at 7:30. All the photographers we have visited said that it is plenty of time.

we havent booked the church yet but we are hoping for a 330-4pm time slot. our CH starts at 7, but we are picking a church that is within 20 minutes of our rh.

We have a Friday wedding, and we booked our church for 2:30. I was going to do 3:00, because I was worried about people with work and all, but after talking to my photographer, he said what is the difference with a half hour...people will have to either leave early or take the day off anyways, and it will give you an extra 30 mins to play with.
We don't want to see each other before hand and our church is an hour away from the hall.

I got married on a friday and my ceremony was at 3-we had about a 10 minute drive from there to OWG (where we had 1 1/2 hours for pics) and then a 10 minuted drive to CB and arrived there at about 615.
I would definitely be worried about traffic and timing
