First, where did you stay? Next, what activities/excursions did you do outside or inside the resort? Trying to get a feeling for what will keep us entertained during the day aside from beautiful beaches

Fh and I went to the Dominican Republic back in March for a nice vacation. Besides chillin on the beach and hanging by the pool and stuffing our faces we went parasailing, went on a 6 hour excursion with snorkeling and swimming with sharks and seeing an old ship wreck..that was alot of fun!!! There's many things you can do on some of these islands

I stayed at sandals Jamaica we had a geat time there were water sports and and games, and we went on a jamaican reggae cruise!

went to punta cana last year w/ FH, and we did parasailing, and did an ATV tour through the town, which stopped at a coffee plantation then down to a beautiful secluded in beach. in cancun i did an all day trip to chichen itza, also did the jungle tour where you go on a jet ski type vehicle (forget the actual name) to an ocean area where you go snorkeling. there's a lot to do off premisis in mexico.

We stayed at Le Blanc in Cancun last winter and loved it. Since it's Cancun, there is lots to do outside of the resort!

FH and I stayed at Sunvillage (I think) in Dominican Republic. There were 6 pools (with bars in the center), and of course the beach. We did an ATV excursion where we rented them and went riding in the country side (that was so much fun); seaworld, a theatre show. There were plenty activities on the resort ie. dance classes, sports competitions, etc.

i went to three all inclusives in Jamiaca :
Rose hall resort Presidente Ochos Rios RIU Negril
i was not a huge fan of the food. we mostly drank all day, used the spa for massages- mani-pedi-watersports (banana boat, jet ski, catermeran?) shopped at a few vendors and basically went to relax

I've been to all inclusives in the Dominican Republic and in Mexico and LOVE it. You don't have to worry about anything. You don't need to carry money with you anywhere. Only warning - because there are no limits to the food, I tend to gain weight after each trip.
There's so much to do there. They come up with activities for you. Also, there are usually shows at night and dancing after that.

We just got back from Excellence Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. LOVED IT! There's activities planned every half hour or hour all day long, such as volleyball, cooking lessons, dancing lessons, massage classes, shows, etc. Then you can also do excursions off the resort, which we didn't but some were a catamaran ride, snorkling, a party boat, atv riding, parasailing, etc.

i've been to an AI in cancun, mexico and our HM at Couples Ocho Rios in jamaica was AI
it was great---we were able to relax a lot--but we were able to leave the resort and do shopping tours, waterfalls, parasailing, etc.

riviera maya -blue bay granda esmeralda. we did ATVing through the jungle, speed boat in the ocean, visited mayan ruins and went shopping at playa del carmen. inside the resort just went to nightly entertainment shows and stayed by the pool to relax and drink.

we stayed at Sandals jamaica and bahamas they were really nice and not that expensive. We are planning to go to Occidental in aruba, heard really great things about them. Good luck
