I just discovered 5 adorable kittens in my backyard. I am unable to keep them because of my own pets. However, I want to at least try to help them find homes. They are about 6-8 weeks. Is anyone willing to foster or adopt one? I have done it before and it is really easy. You just pet them and get them used to people. They definitely will because they are so young. Four are tiger cats and one is black and white. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I don't want to abandon them but I am unwilling to feed them the rest of my life. They will definitely make excellent pets. They don't hiss or anything.

If you can't find homes for them, see if Kitty Kind (a rescue group) will take them. Very cool of you to try and help them!

My mother is a volunteer for North Shore Animal League. You should call them about the kittens. My mom says a lot of people leave animals by a fence if they won't take them and they take them in the next morning. They would probably take kittens though...they are always looking for young ones.

I have three living in my backyard too!!!! two black and white and one black! I just saw them yesterday. It appears they live in my yard along with mommy and daddy. Mommy has always hung around my yard but daddy and kids are new comers.

I don't know how long you are willing to hold onto them for, but I am looking to get a kitten when I get back from my HM in the middle of July.

I second that, and what a great little treat to come home to after a HM- a little kitty, I wish I could help but I have 5 and 2 dogs and I think my DH will shoot me if I bring home anymore pets. good luck and def try north shore that is where we got 2 of the 5, kittens are always the first to go.

I totally agree, but I don't want to leave them outside for two weeks without being able to be socialized. Rachel...you are more than willing to take them now!!

awww...if only you could hold out for 2 weeks - I'm sure Rachel would have no problem caring and nurturing one of those kittens so much so that they'd bond with her on the spot!!!!

Sorry, no help from me, but please at keep trying! My old girl, at 18 years old would NOT take kindly to a youngster.
I don't know for sure, but we got my cat from the Freeport Animal Shelter if you need somewhere else to look.

def call around to some shelters and see if they will take them. I would take one, but my landlords do not allow pets, they agreed to let us have the one cat, but his wife flips every time she sees her.
