Say that five times fast!

Silk satin shoes are twice as expensive as satin shoes, but I want to match my diamond white dress. The lady at Sandy's shoes said they can be died to look as if they were silk satin. Has anyone done this? It seems difficult to duplicate because its not actually a color, but a shade of white.

My dress is silk satin and my shoes are poly satin.

I bought them (Kenneth Cole Bridal) on sale thinking that they looked pretty close but I didn't care if they weren't an exact match since no one would see.

Well they just so happen to match exactly.

A good quality shoe in poly satin will be impossible to distinguish as poly vs. silk.

In my opinion, its just not worth the $$ for silk shoes unless you can't bear without them - and I am a complete fabric snob.

As for matching, I seriously doubt anyone will be able to match an off white shade exactly. If you are okay with slight differences, just get an light ivory satin shoe instead of a stark white and leave it at that.
