anyone with Cathedral veil/veil with loops, please help!

I ordered my veil from veilshop.com w/a comb. I think that was the only option.

Well, I had my hair trial Thursday, and there were some issues.

I have a one layer catherdral veil & the hairdressers didn't think they should put it in b/c I 'vd have to go home & get dressed with it. But they thought my hair might get messed up if I put it in myself & then when I took it out at the reception.
So, they suggested I get loops instead, and it would be easier to put in & take out.

Then they said that the comb was showing & wouldn't line up with my headpeice, so I should either wear my hair up & have it under neath (no way!) or get additional layers added, so the comb would be more hidden.

A better option, but not what I want. So , I am having the lady at Barron's in Tri County replace the comb with loops, so that should solve the taking it out problem, but I am not sure if that will eliminate the need for extra layers.




did anyone else have a one layer cathedral veil? Did it have loops or a comb? did you get it in & out ok?

I have a 1 layer cathedral veil. It is attached with velcro to my headpiece. I am wearing my veil on top of my head....not underneath.
Is this an option for you?

Same here -- velcro for detaching... got it at Barron's. Ask her, I'm sure she'll be able to help.

ooh-velcro! i didn't know that was an option!
My headpice is a thin headband though.

Not sure how that will work. Ican't pciture how velcroign the veil to the headpeice works.


Barrons is putting on the loops--I guess if it doesn't work I could bring it back & have her do velcro.
It was only $10 for the loops.

I wore a one layer cathedral veil with a comb.
My hair is black, since most comes come in clear plastic, they will still be noticable becase of the glare. I found a black metal come instead, they are stronger than platic, and help dig into the hair for a better hold. I wore my hair half up/half down, with a tiara. They sewed the veil onto the comb. I had the tiara pinned into my hair separate from the veil. We took our pictures first, then had the ceremony, and then took the family pictures (during the cocktail hour). Then I had the veil taken off, and because of the weight and the dragging, it did flatten the back of my hair a little. But I had the hairdresser fix it. Are you wearing your hair down, and alittle high on the tob of your head? It makes it easier to hide the comb within your hair.
