I am running into a little bit of a problem. I don't know if there are many girls with my dress. I never seen a picture posted of the dress.
This is my question: I tried on my wedding dress for the first time this past weekend. I thought my sample dress had buttons on the back of the dress. The dress that came into the salon did not have any buttons. I wanted to see the sample dress but the saleswoman told me that they sold the sample dress, since the style was discontinued.
My dress is also so tight! I can barely breathe and I thought that the salon usually orders a little bit of a larger dress for the fittings. I haven't gained any weight - I have been the same weight for the past five years. The salon is blaming Marisa for sending the wrong size dress, even though they sent me a size 10, the size that was originally ordered!
I just think there is something fishy about this dress. I am working with Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. I am very leery of all bridal stores.

Re: Anyone with Marisa Dress #494?
I found this on the website. Is this your dress? Here's the front view...
Yep, that is my dress. Do you see buttons on the back? I used the zoom feature and I could see buttons. Maybe I am going crazy!
I sent a message to the designer. I hear from other boards that she is very nice and that she responds to all of her messages.

Re: Anyone with Marisa Dress #494?
Thank you - I see buttons too! At least I am not that crazy. I feel better if all the ladies on the board agrees with me. I just hope Bridal Reflections does not give me the run around. They were so nice to me at the sale of my dress but now that they have my money.... I am beginning to wonder. I am not placing any judgment. We will wait and see.

I would definately call the manufacturer. I do see buttons as well. But that could be something you have to specify when ordering, like color too. I am not sure.
I hope this all works out for you! It's a beautiful dress!

Re: Anyone with Marisa Dress #494?
here is a VERY close-up of the back of my actual dress, hanging in my bridal suite the day of.....
I also had this issue with my Marisa dress (#373)-the manufacturers site clearly showed buttons yet my dress didn't have them. I bought my gown from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. What I ended up doing was emailing Marisa and asking about it. They told me that the buttons were an option. So-I took the picture from their site along with my email response from Marisa and ordered the buttons. Bridal Reflections ordered the buttons directly from Marisa and it came out beautifully! Here's the email for Marisa: [email protected] Let me know if you have questions!!

Oh my goodness! I have a Marisa dress too (#487) and i thought the buttons were standard. i am calling right now!! I would definitely suggest calling the manufacturer and explaining that it was not explained to you about the buttons and see how long it will take to order a new one (in the right size!!) maybe they can rush it.

Re: Anyone with Marisa Dress #494?
The button issue is solved! Thank you octobergirl for posting a picture of the actual dress. I also received e-mail from a Marisa representative this afternoon, confirming the fact that the dress does not have buttons. I looked at the Internet picture so many times on the computer (since July) and my mind started to think that there were buttons on the dress.
I am just concerned with the size of the dress. I look like a stuff sausage! The e-mail message from the manufacture told me that Bridal Reflections ordered me the right size dress. The Marisa people might have cut the wrong size dress?? I am meeting with Bridal Reflections next week to figure out if they can take out enough of the dress. I haven’t gain any weight, so I can’t blame myself.
Octobergirl – What kind of headpiece did you wear with the dress? I was thinking of a simple tiara, since the front of the dress is so elaborate. I was also of keeping the jewelry simple, if I even wear a necklace. I would love to hear what you did.

Re: Anyone with Marisa Dress #494?
mengie, i did not wear a necklace. the front of the dress, imo, was too busy for any added stuff. my tiara, if you could even call it that was very simple. it was custom made, and had a mixture of small pearls and crystals. it was more like a headband because it laid extremely flat on my head. i didn't wear a watch either... only simple (fake) diamond earrings and my ring(s). maybe you could find a really good corset that helps to pull you in to fit into the dress better... good luck with that!
