Anyone work with Videomaker?

Anyone work with Videomaker?

Now that I picked my photographer, I'm meeting with video people. Has anyone met or heard about Videomaker, a small company out of Deer Park? We met with the owner Mark and liked him, but would like to know the inside scoop.

We did meet with LCA Video and really liked Frank and his work, but he is way out of our price range.

Mark is about 900 for everything (including coming to the bride's house and edited tapes).

Thanks for the input. Any suggestions are welcome!

Re: Anyone work with Videomaker?

I had asked the same question not too long ago and had no responses.
I haven't started meeting with video people yet.
Please let me know how things go if you choose them! I thought their price was great too.
Did you see a sample of there work? Did you look at a video waiting to be picked up?
Thanks in advance!
Good luck

Re: Anyone work with Videomaker?

I think most of our probably more concerned with the photos than the video, so maybe that's why there aren't a lot of posts about that.

We met with Mark about a month ago and the footage he showed us seemed OK and he even includes special effects, if you want them, plus baby pictures and honeymoon pictures. We will probably meet with him again for when we went the first time he just showed us his 'sample' tape, and I would like to see an actual, complete tape that's ready to go to a bride. The sample showed several different people (so you chould have an idea of his style and how he accommodates different brides' personalities). I think seeing a completed project will help me decide.

But since I know of no one who has used him or even heard of him (he doesn't do the showcases because of the cost involved), I wanted a reference first before committing.

I will post back after we meet with him again, most likely within the next two weeks (I really want to get that done).

We met with JR Video, too, and the owner was nice, but their basic package was high (about 1600) and that didn't include going to the bride's house.

Hopefully, some other people will chime in with some suggestions, too.

Thanks for all the info.
Let me know how things go when you meet with them again. I would definitely need to see a video waiting to be picked up!
Is the office at a private house or do they have a retail location? The address looks like it is off the main retail area.
Good luck!

Mark from videomaker is in his house. His basement (lower level of a ranch) is his whole editing suite area.

JR is in a building with Tommy Tunes and ADA photography (a one-stop shopping place).

Re: Anyone work with Videomaker?

WE met with Mark today and decided to book him. He is very firendly and we could see ourselves working with him all day. We watched some raw footage he shot about two weeks ago and it all looked very well lit and in focus. Plus, he charges under 900 for everything, including going to the bride's house and doing the editing (with baby pictures, etc.) And, you only have to give 250 in advance. You can pay him the next installment the day of the wedding, and the rest when your raw footage is ready. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding when we get our tape! But I'm happy with the arrangement so far and hope everything will come out as planned.

Sorry I didn't get back to you ASAP, but I'm glad someone else had the info. I am interested to hear what you think about him. Plan on staying a while if you meet with Mark because he is very chatty. But you do find out a lot about him that way. Good luck!
