Re: anyone worried about actually catching the swine flu?
I'm worried. I live in CA and a large part of our population travels back and forth to Mexico. It's a farming community so most of them don't even have health care to stop the spread or recognize it early.
I'm really nervous about my mom catching it because she works at a clinic (she a physican's assistant) in the middle of a very very very poor farm community. She said they don't even have the ability to test these ppl for the swine flu because the funding for the clinic comes from the state and none of her patients have health insurance. I'm very worried for her.

I just went to Rite aid and bought a big bottle of lysol disinfectant and while th little germ bombs are in music, i sprayed down everything. I also gace a lecture on hand washing and not touching me, lol. Ok paranoid I know, but hey I'm getting married in 12 weeks, I can't be contracting weird animal like viruses. I'm weird and animal-like enough these days lol.

To be honest, I am not really worried. FH and I were watching the news last night that they had a doctor on there discussing the swine flu. She said that, like the regular flu, just was your hands frequently and if you feel sick go to your doctor because they have 2 different medications to treat it.
She also said that the cases in the US have been relatively mild and, though it could get worse, right now there is really no need to panic.
Just wash your hands frequently!

i heard the same thing from a different doc. there are SO many precautions that they are taking and just stay clean and be smart. i think it will be fine until there is more information .

Re: anyone worried about actually catching the swine flu?
FH has been sick with the flu since last week. He never gets sick - when i say never i mean in the 6 years we've been dating i've never seen him sich. so this scared me to see him like this. it got really bad this weekend i was ready to take him to the ER. All i thought of was the frickin swine flu. Thank God his fever broke and he stopped throwing up this morning. He's feeling much better than over the weekend. If he wasn't better by today i was dragging his arse to the hospital.

Re: anyone worried about actually catching the swine flu?
I just read that there's a case of swine flu in Oceanside. . .a worker at the JCC. all I can think to myself right now is, 'Holy ****, half of my students go there for Hebrew school or after school stuff!' Yeah. . .now I'm starting to feel scared about it. I KNOW it's going to start up in school. . .but if it does, at least woohoo, free day off!!!

I so nervous! I don't want to leave my house. My friend told me last night that there was a case in Deer Park. I talked to my class about hand washing too! And I always tell them to back up from me. They get so close. I hope we are all ok!
