Anyones BM super nice then change after the booking?

My BM was so nice...now i know it was a ploy for the booking but the last 2 times hes just been sorta 1 word answers and its getting to me! 1st time was on the phone i called about upgrading and he barely wanted to speak and said if we chose to do so we can do it when we do our menu and rushed off the line. Then this week I ran in there and was talking about the room and tables w/ him and he was kinda nasty. He says he was sick but I dunno! I was kinda bummed over it bc he was just so nice and helpful from day 1!
just curious how other BM are?!

We loved our BM from the very first moment we sat down with her before we even booked. She definitely gave us so many options and was so helpful when we booked, she was a big reason why! The night we signed the contract, my father said to her, 'How do we know you'll still be working here in the next 1 year or so?' her comment was, 'I've been here for 7 years and I'm not leaving.' Well that was January and when I called in May to discuss some other options, GUESS WHAT?!! She left, quit...fineto! I couldn't believe it. Both FH and my dad were very upset.

I had the same exact problem as you and it is very frustrating. I am not getting married where you are, but I know exactly what you are going through. My BM was so nice before we signed the contract and after that he was an @$$!!! We went back with my dad because the night we signed the contract my dad didn't get a good look at the ballroom. We drove 45 minutes and my BM rushed us and was very rude. He told my dad that it doesn't matter if he was happy, it only matters if the bride is happy and my dad quickly corrected him and was like uh, no I'm paying for it so it does matter if I'm happy. After that visit, I was furious!!! I ended up emailing my BM and telling him how upset I was and hoped that next time we came to visit, he would treat us like paying customers and not rush out the door, etc. To make a long story short, we got a letter in the mail about 3 weeks ago saying that my BM had left our establishment and we would be getting reassigned. I was so excited because I couldn't stand him!!!
If I were you, I would tell him how you feel and give him one more chance. After that, I would go to someone higher up than him and request someone else.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience. I am dealing with Bruce and everytime I've dealt with him he's been great. Maybe you can get reassigned or ask to be reassigned?

Well he seems nice but just more of a rushed feeling...and it bothers me! Thats how I felt at other halls and thats what made me walk right out! He was so nice but I guess once he got me to sign on that dotted line it was over! HAHA sounds like a 1 night stand!!

Well im hoping we like him better when we go do our menu in a few weeks! If I still feel hes being a azz i think thats when I will open my mouth. I dont like to start stuff but if im giving them my wedding i feel the least they can do is take their time out and do their job! No need to be a jerk once you get a customer. After all its US who promotes their halls!!!

I can see how that would happen. After you book, they know they've got you. I was just over at my hall (Woodbury Country club) on Friday for my tasting, and my experience was totally the opposite. My BM, Bob was great! He gave us his attention, and though we was busy setting up a wedding in the next room, never made us feel rushed. I even joked with him that he didn't have to impress us, b/c we had already booked, and he laughed and said too bad! LOL!

If you are feeling uncomfortable, try to set up a call with him when he's not busy to go over your concerns.

TOO MANY BM POSSIBLITIES!!!

I first thought BM...BRIDES MAID...thinking about your post earlier this week, but then thought BEST MAN after I read HE...then THAT didn't work so I FINALLY moved to Banquet Manager - he is really not on my mind yet so it took me a while to put it together!

I'm using Bruce too and have had a very good experience. if you are feeling any discomfort working with your BM, definitely express your concerns. You are paying a lot of $$ for your big day and there is no reason to be feeling the way you are.
