Anyone's Dad in love with their DH/FH????

My dad is so far up DH's butt I'm worried he's going to get stuck up there!!!!

When we came home for a visit in April, dad actually made a move to shake DH's hand before he said hello to me!!!!

And DH is just as much of a brown-noser!!! They'll talk for hours about the most boring stuff ever!!!!

not that my dad doesnt love my DH BUT my Grandfather is the one that is attached to the hip with my DH!! OMG...at family functions...no one else might as well be around!!!



I really dont mind it...I would hate for anyone in my family or my DH to not like each other!!

YES, MY DADDY!!!

Funniest part is that my dad never even LIKED anyone I dated before I met DH. But not only does he like Anthony , he LOVES HIM! Its like a total lovefest everytime they are together.

I'm not much of a cook and my Dad used to be a chef .. and he goes out of his ways to make the food DH likes and will leave it at our place for him as a 'surprise'.. Meanwhile I'm like -- hey wait? Over here? I'm your princess! What about meeeeeeeeeeee??

The fact my Dad loves Dh is even more impressive b/c Dh is a Mets fan and my Dad loves the Yanks .. and somehow he overlooks this huge fact and still adores him

Don't get me wrong .. I think its terrific that they get along so well. But sometimes I think that my parents are totally lovestruck by DH and that he can do no wrong.

I always told him that he ever dumped me, they' probably disown me and try to adopt him

Yes, my Dad loves DH. When he would tell people I was engaged, and people would ask if he liked my fiance, he would answer 'We like him better than her!'

One of the first times I took Seb out to my family's house, it was my birthday and I really wanted to have a BBQ, but was a little concerned about how he would cope during a day with the fam...well, um it's 3am and there's Seb and my Dad out on the deck, drunk as skunks!!!! and my dad is saying 'tell me, honestly, are you guys still mad at us about the Revolutionary War?'

Sign me up!!

I have found that DH and my dad call each other on their own (dad lives in FL) just to chat

My dad and DH love each other too! I think it is great because I am really close with my parents.

Why yes I know them well

They are even going together to Ireland this Christmas and leaving me to fly ON MY OWN (I'm scared to fly) the week later. Dad has been known to ask if I'm coming home to visit on the weekend and if DH isn't coming with me I get the '....oh....ok....' and I can practically hear his face falling.

Me, me, me!!! I posted on another thread that my dad was the one who told me that DH liked me more than a friend. He told me to 'wake up' and realize that a nice guy liked me.

My father always loved 'slim' as he called him and I wish he was around today to see how their relationship would have developed.

I do have a cousin, who is around my mother's age, who loves DH. They go surfing together, fix things together, do computer stuff together, call and chat, all sorts of things!
