I was thinking about getting one for FH because he is in construction and I dont want a platinum ring getting totally abused. Im looking for 'real world' experience.

I did. He does installs for VErizon and I wanted something that could withstand abuse. It looks nice and ehe likes, it, but I can't tell you how it's held up until February...

FH just picked his out last night after seeing two friends with them, one of which is in construction. He like the 'gun metal' dark silver look since he's not a jewelry wearer and if he loves it, he'll wear it! Both our friends said they love it since it's light and durable, and it's engravable!

we did! DH fell in love with it, mostly because it is really light (and very hard) and i think he thinks it is more manly than any other 'precious' metal. I told him he could keep his 'Terminator' ring (that's what i call it) and I got a plat band to match my e-ring. But when it came time, he surprised me the night of the rehearsal dinner with a smaller matching band to his. What a sweetheart. So now i wear that titanium ring all the time and leave the nice platinum one at home for safekeeping!
Our rings are the brushed kind. real plain bands with the comfort fit. VERY comfortable and light. the only thing I notice is that it gets scratched up a bit, which you really do not notice with the brushed finish, but i notice it of course. but since it is pretty rugged anyway, it looks fine. not sure if the shiney is any different or not!
be ready, if you get one, EVERYONE will ask you 'what kind of ring is that? i have never seen that before?!' i even had one woman say to me, 'oh, that must have been a lot cheaper huh?' YEAH RIGHT lady, get with the times, it cost almost as much as platinum and way more than gold!!! some people!

Titanium should be WAY LESS than platinum and gold!!! FH ring was only $150 at Littman Jewelers. That is one of the benefits of it....
My FH has a titanium band. He really thought the titanium was more masculine, and we thought the prices were really reasonable, around $200.00. Our bands don't match, but I have an antique engagment ring and wedding band.
I bought DH a titanium wedding band from eweddingrings as well- I wound up losing it in the move though & got him a white gold one because I only had 4 days to get him a new ring in time for the wedding! I loved it though (and he did too)...
