Although I must admit it is very cute to watch Kanga chase them, I'm scared she will get stung or contract some illness. She'll try to eat any critter outside. Does anyone elses pet do this?

My parents dog, Nathan, used to eat slugs when he was little. It was the grossest thing in the world. His mouth would get stuck together from the slim. But he is now 10 and out grew that, but still likes to chase big ants and eat them. I think its a normal thing.

Myy brothers dog in DC was absolutely OBSESSEd with Cicadas last year, and she threw up a few times, thank goodness there life cycle is only every 12 years!
My dogs eat bugs occassionally, nothing bad ever happened. I am more concerned about the rocks

The pug chases bugs & smashes them with his paw....unfortunately, the Shiba Inu does eat them......all of them. It is a little gross and it usually makes him puke.

our dogs chase butterflies and go after any bugs that get in the house. Quite entertaining actually!

My cats LOVE bugs. They are indoor cats, so any type of but that gets in the house, spider, ant, fly etc.... They love to chase it down, play with it for a while, and then eat it.
They have great eyes and always see the spiders on the ceiling. I will usually kill any bug that I see before they get the chance to play with it.

Gunnar and Scout both love bugs....they like to play with them, and then eat them....but they always leave just a little bit to let me know they caught something...
Gunnar used to go outdoors and LOVED slugs.....ughhhhhh. He also tried to eat a tick once and it stuck to his tongue....not pretty

Lucy is constantly trying to eat bugs! The other day I actually saw somthing hanging from her mouth and it was half of an ant. But it is really cute to watch her chasing any kind of flying bug!

My kitty Hades eats spiders, and when he can't reach one, he'll cry until we notice him and take the spider off the wall.

My dog used to eat snails!
She knew where they would be stuck to the side of the house, and find them.
Gross, but I was more worried about the shells that she would chew than the slug inside.

Roxy used to snap at all the flies and bees but barey ever caught them. she would lick up ants though. gross!

Golem likes to hop - yes, HOP - after bumblebees, moths, and birdies - it's really cute! He'll also try to eat worms after it rains, and chases and then eats ants whenever they get into the house. The other day he cought an ant, then spit it out and it was still moving! Gross - I can't wait until he grows out of this 'I must eat everything' stage!

yes. daisy ate a BIG bumble bee. I found her with it hanging out of her mouth. It stung her, she kept sticking her tounge out and hacking and then vomiting A LOT. I freaked and called the vet who said she was fine unless she started swelling. She never swelled but she vomited like 3-4 times.
Lesson learned.. of course not. I caught her yesterday with a bee cornered in the grass. She tries to eat butterflies too.
We also have a wild rabbit in my block. It is only a matter of time before she catches it!.......................

my lab jumps in the air after flys but then spits them out and usually hits them with her paw until they are dead! i think it is the chase that she enjoys.
