AOL Users Check Your Credit Card Statement!!

I got my credit card statement yesterday. And I was billed $134.95 from a company called Simple Escapes2. I called them to ask them what this was. They said on Dec 5th there was a pop-up that came on when I signed on to AOL. When I 'didn't reply' they took that as a 'lets charge her $134.95' (Their words)

So please check your statements. They will take credit you as soon as you complain!

I heard about another scam w/ AOL too. An email pops up saying you have pictures and the email prompts you to enter your user name and password. Now the hackers have your password and can use your account to send spam. You could even be banned from AOL whan this happens.
Thats why I think AOL is the root of all evil!

Why are people still using AOL? They are horrible! They took advantage early on with the making the internet user friendly, but almost everyone now knows how to click the E or Netscape icon and type www.whatever.com or www.google.com. WHy do people still feel the need to use AOL. All they do is provide a dial up right? Nope.. they bombard you with ads and annoying tactics. I HATE them!

I had them free for a year and when I TRIED to cancel one month before the end of the term they refused to let me. I spent 2 hours explaning I don't WANT aol. She said she'd give me an extra free month and then I could decide which means I'd have to remember to call back and cancel AGAIN if I didnt want to be charged. Finally after getting basically pointing out the obvious she got really mean and nasty with me but finally cancelled my order.

I use DSL now because back in the day, I only had one telephone line and cable modem wasn't an option (too far from source). My roomie wanted to use AOL and I used DSL at the same time.

AOL is a brainwashing tool to make people believe they can't handle the internet without AOL as 'protection'. You don't NEED them.

HATE HATE HATE HATE AND LOATH AOL!
Heard they are now going to spend 200MILLION dollars this year trying to bring in more users. Great.. more crap in my mailbox.

I canceled my account SIX DAYS into the new cycle and they won't credit me any money.
