Re: Apartment advice
It's been years since I have rented but the only fee anyone ever tried to charge me was to run the credit report. I was denied by a couple places (when i was 18) for having no credit. As long as you can prove employment and dont have bad credit... theres really no reason why they would deny you. I would just pick the apartment you want the most and start with that. That way your not wasting your money on the fees.

Re: Apartment advice
don't know if coram is too far out of the way for you but these apts were just built within the past few years... I have been inside one and it was huge. they allow pets too.

I wish!! Its just out of my price range. The only way i could afford it is if car parts were scatted on the front lawn

Re: Apartment advice
If there is an application fee here are some things you need to ask before paying and applying:
1. What does my credit score have to be to get approved?
2. Can the Apt. be in FH name and add me as a tenant as well?
3. If I am not approved, do I receive a partial reimbursment for app. fee?
4. Besides credit score and employment, what other things factor into approval for a lease?

Re: Apartment advice
Some places have a higher credit threshold than others, but I wouldn't worry about that!
Lake Grove apartments is really beautiful, my friend has a one bedroom there.
Good Luck

Re: Apartment advice
i think you should only be paying for an application fee when you're really serious about wanting to live there. so if you decide you love the lake grove apts, complete their application and pay the fee and wait to see if you're approved before you complete any others. at least that's how i'd do it.
