Mineola has a ton - I'd think Great Neck as well but not positive. Where would you like to be? North Shore, South Shore? Do you have a price range?

I'm very Long Island impaired! I just know that we don't want to go further than Nassau county. A nice neighborhood... Price range...I would like to keep it at a max of 1000 a month. I'd be open to a one br apt or studio.

Re: Apartment complexes
Are you set on an apt building or would you do an apt in a house?. My dad said his realestate office gets apt in Floral Park for $900-$1250 all the time. Usually they are in a 2 family house.
FM me if you want the number to his office. He is in Floral Park (nassau county) Cute town.
They also have apt type buildings called Flower view gardens. Not sure of the number but if you want it I can drive by tonight and get it.

Fairhaven apartments are really nice. There's one in Carle Place, Mineola, and Woodbury. I know there's more, but that's the only one I can remember right now.

Long Beach has a ton of apartment buildings (also coop and condo's that people sub-let.) If you rent yearly, it's not as expensive as seasonal.

Re: Apartment complexes
You'll be hard pressed to find a 1 bedroom apartment for $1000 in a complex. Every complex we looked at for a studio or 1 bedrrom the rent started at $1000 + utilities.
I would try and look for an apartment in a house. There are lots of real estate search engines out there as well. I know Newsday has one, and NY Online Realty as well.

Re: Apartment complexes
I second Vicki - all the apts I know of near me (Central Nassau) go for well over $1000/mth - it's more like $1,200+ for complexes now.
