We are just beginning our apartment now and we're getting married in August. We waited until FI finished school and now I'm getting stressed that we wont have enough time to find something we like.
I am look for a 1 or 2 BR apartment in Westen Nassau, prefferably in a complex. We are looking to spend around $1500, but can go a little higher. Does anyone know af any places that have availibity in that price range.
I'm looking in Newsday and NY Times, but its so overwhelming.. Thanks for any help

I just wanted to say...GOOD LUCK!! It will take a few months before you find something but for what you are willing to spend you should have no problems.

Go to www.forrent.com. I think they have no fee apartments there, not sure if they have listings in Nassau but try it! Good luck!

check soundview gardens in port washington. i lived there for 2+ yrs before i bought my condo. at the time i was paying $900 for a HUGE studio, so they definitely have stuff in your price range. it's local to a bunch of stores and the town is so cute! i hated leaving, but i couldn't afford to buy in that area.

LOL-a few of my friends lived in the Soundview apts in Pt Wash! They each had 1 bedrooms. Very nice complex.
Before my sister was married, she lived in a complex in Mineola, on Old Country Road just across from the courthouses. She liked it there...her rent may have been about $ 1000, but that was six years ago. It was a very convenient place to live-near the LIRR, near shopping, etc.

Do you have to stay in Nassau? I am also apartment hunting since I have given up in finding a 'nice house.' There are some great apartment complexes in Suffolk. I am looking at one in Holbrook for around that price.
