Re: Apartment Hunting?
When do you want to move in? I'd suggest starting to look about 2-3 months before you want to move in.

Re: Apartment Hunting?
I have been looking for three years at prices with apartments and i notice a big trend. Apartment rents are cheaper in the winter months because no one wants to move then. They spike up big time in mid-late spring until july. Drops down in August-Sept (school) and then picks up for the fall again.
Good luck!

Re: Apartment Hunting?
In Queens, start looking 2 months before because they won't hold the apt for you more than 1 month..
Which area in Queens?

Re: Apartment Hunting?
Are you looking to rent or buy? We've started looking now to rent in June. The only problem is a lot of places want to start getting the rent now, so they want you to move in now.

Re: Apartment Hunting?
In Queens, they usually start showing the apartment 1 month before the tenants move out(if someone is still living there) and they will want you to move in within 2 wks after the tenants move out. If the apt is vacant, they will want you to move it rt the way and they won't hold it more than 1 month
