Re: apartment search
I don't think it's too early. It's never too soon to start and get ideas. It's better than being down to the wire @ the end of March with nowhere to live after the wedding!! LOL
Good luck!

Re: apartment search
I think it's too early unless you are willing to start renting it now. Landlords will not hold apartments for that four months. But you may want to see if they have a waiting list so they will call you when an apartment is ready.

Re: apartment search
I don't think it's too early. Those apartment complexes usually have waiting lists. It wouldn't hurt to put your name on one. And if they call you when you are not ready to move in I think you can decline the apt. and wait for the next one to open up. That's the way it was at the apt. complex my friend lives in.We're not getting married until next October and were thinking of putting our names on a few lists.

Re: apartment search
Call around -Some places have waiting lists, others do not. From experience, I know that most complexes will tell you when to call back if you are calling too soon. If it is a really nice and affordable complex, there's probably a waiting list.
Where are you looking?

Re: apartment search
I agree. If you're looking for a complex, you could probably look now to get your name on a waiting list. You usually can only find out about private apts about a month or two before they are available so you probably would have to be ready to move if you're looking for an apt like this.

Re: apartment search
Are you looking to rent or buy? Where??My experience with renting (in Brooklyn and Queens) is that the owner/realtor/managing agent will want you to move in the following month.
