Apartments-is it worth it to get utilites included?
DH and I have always had apartments where we pay for our own utilites, but he would enioy having a more set budget....is it worth it to hunt for a utilies included apartment, thanks

Depends on how much more the rent is. If you spend $1600/month on rent and $400/month on utilities, but you can find an apartment with utilities included for less than $2000/month, then yes its worth it.
But I have never seen an apartment with utilities included (Other than heat and hot water). As a Landlord, I wouldn't want to do that because then you could go crazy with long distance calling and electricity and cable tv plans, and I'd have to eat it.

I would say yes...Danielle and I have everything including utilities, cable, phone and cable modem included in our rent

thanks!!! I def see how we should weigh it out, to see how it compares with or without rent wise, I just worry because DH and I are so into saving for a house that I feel we will go without phone or cable if we could, so if it is included it will just be part of our rent, make sense lol, we have been 4 years cable free!! lol.

We have all our utilities included too - even cable. We just pay them $7 extra each month for the added box. The only thing we pay out of pocket is our home telephone bill. I definitely think it's worth it to get an apartment with utilities included.

definitely worth it...usually they include heat, water, electric....sometimes cable/satellite.....phone is usually your own responsibility.
It's worth it if : -you like using alot of heat/air conditioning you leave lights on you take really long showers or more than one a day you cook alot
I used to take 2 showers a day...one for work and one if I was meeting up with my man or going out that evening. I used to sleep with the tv on (I felt like I wasn't 'alone')
