Re: Apple Pie?????
This one is great!
this recipe is called 'Favorite Apple Pie' and that's perfect because it's my favorite one.
bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Makes a 9' pie.
ready made pie crust (I use pillsbury in the red box that you find in the refrigerated section) 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon salt 6 cups thinly sliced pared tart apples (about 2 pounds) 1/4 cup cream 3 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 tablespoon milk
Roll out round to fit into a 9 inch pie plate trim over hang to 1/2 inch.
Mix granulated and brown sugars , flour , spices and salt in a small bowl. spread about one third of the apples into prepared pastry shell sprinkle with one third of the seasoning mixture. Repeat layering two more times with remaining apples and seasoning mixture. Pour cream into center. dot with butter or margarine. --note: It may look like its really high with apples but it really cooks down.
Roll out remaining pastry -cut several slits near center to let steam escape. cover pie. Trim/seal edges (I roll the edges up so its sealed and then using a fork press down all along the edges so that it makes little nice lines and seals it tighter. its pretty and helps keep it closed) Brush top with milk.
Bake in hot over (400) 1 hr or until pastry is golden and juices bubble up. Cool at least an hour on a wire rack. Can be served warm. Sometimes it's good to cool it in the fridge. If it is not cooled before you cut it, it gets runny but its fine.

Re: Apple Pie?????
this is the recipe I always use people seem to really like it
Ingredients 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie 1/2 cup unsalted butter 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/4 cup water 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
Directions Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer. Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off. Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.

Re: Apple Pie?????
Ha ha ha this is kinda funny....I hate making pie crust and the last pis crust i bought was absolutely terrible. So in lieu of apple pie I've been opting for what I like to call 'Apple Guts'! I've just been making the apple pie filling and baking them in little ramekins instead. It comes out just as good and everyone has their on personal serving! Plus theres no worry about the apple filling leaking out once it's cut!
