I AM GETTING MARRIED AT DANFORDS ON THE SOUND IN THE BROOKHAVEN ROOM. I LEFT A DEPOSIT WITH NICOLE ABOUT A WEEK AGO. I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT WITH DANFORS. I AM GOING TO GO WITH CREATE A CAKE. THEY ARE NICE AND I HAVE BEEN THEIR AND THEIR CAKES LOOK AMAZING! I MET WITH MARK KAUFFMAN AND HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE... I COULD USE SOME HELP WITH THAT. AND AS FAR AS THE FLORIST.. IT LOOKS LIKE JAMES CRESS. STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT A DJ..ANY SUGGESTIONS ??? SO FAR I WAS THINKING ABSOLUTE ENTERTAINMENT OR MUSIC BY MICHAEL.. WRITE BACK LADIES !!!

I didn't look into the DJ's that you had mensioned so I don't know about them. But I chose Spin Around Sound after speaking with Tom White. I had decided to look into them because my aunt/uncle used them last year at their wedding and I really liked the job they did and I had a great time at their wedding. So after speaking with him and reading some past reviews I felt really good about booking with them.
As far as other photographers, I want someone who also does videography because I think it will help how they work together. So I am also looking at the Commack Wedding Center. Their pricing is reasonable and my cousin used them this past November for her wedding. I was in her wedding so I got to see a lot of the interaction between her and the photographer and I thought they did a very nice job. They were not too pushy and they took some really neat shots. I just recently spoke to my cousin and she is absolutely thrilled with the job they did. But I wanted to look into other options as well.
Can you tell me about what happened with Mark Kauffman. I probably won't be able to get there to meet with him so all I have to go by is the info and video that he is sending to me.

Well , I met with him this past weekend. I had an appointment for 12:30. As soon as I got there I told him I had to be at Danfords by 2:00pm.. No problem he said. So an hour goes by and he is still talking to the people that were there before me. The said their budget is 4-5 thousand. ( mine is like $2,000 ) So he finally sits down with us and I begin to ask him questions , and I felt as If I was asking stupid ones by his response. I asked 5 questions before he got up and went back to the other couple again , so another 20 minutes go by and I needed to be at Danfords. Still , not all my questions were answered and I was there for an hour an a half. Then he asked about a deposit !?!?! I was like ur kidding right. U spent 5 minutes with us , and god knows how long the couple was there before us , but like 2 hours with them. felt like cause they were spending more money their questins/ needs were answered first. I was very upset. So I am looking at other Photographers next. Not onlt that but now that I have been looking around I notice his prices are crazy... Lemme know what u thing ?

Well I'm glad I know that now. I haven't even spoken to him yet, I just sent an email to request the info/video. It sound like he was definatly catering to the couple with more $$. How rude. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I hope you don't run into that with any other vendors. I'll let you know if I find any other photographers that are worth checking into.

My DJ is Joey from Jam Entertainment. He is one of the house DJs at Sans Souci and Three village Inn. He is charging me $650 for 5.5 hours (Just him as MC and DJ, no lights or giveaways). Aside from his price, I liked that he wasn't the salesman type, and doesn't seem to be trying to rip me off just b/c i'm having a wedding.
I hired Mark Kaufmann mainly b/c he is able to give us a 3 hour pkg for $800 w/ 200 proofs and 2 photographers. We really want the style that he and his staff offer. To be honest, he rubbed my FI the wrong way, and we didn't start off so well during our first meeting. He was trying to talk us into taking 1000 proofs (for 1.50 per proof), which some brides like, but we think it's totally unecessary. But, after getting my way in the package (all in writing of course) my FI said okay.
