Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
Re: Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
I think you should call and if they make appointments make one. If you don't make one expect that maybe no one can help you.
Re: Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
I would definitely make an appointment. Some of the places told me I didn't need one, but I made appointments anyway. It should ensure that someone will be there and prepared to deal. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, then drop by. But otherwise, I would make appointments.

I would definitely call and make an appointment so that they know that you are coming and will have set aside some time to talk to you.
Re: Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
I agree I would rather have an appointment to start the first visit looking, but I am trying to get afternoon appointments, during the day I do not want to see the places at night when their grounds are dark. The 2 places so far I called can only see me in the evenings tonite and tomorrow.

Re: Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
Thanks Stephanie, basically I am looking for the Sunday or Monday of the holiday weekend--Memorial Day. If the grounds issue is important to me and my FH why shouldn't I see the place in the daylight? It gets dark now by 4:30 pm--seeing the water or gardens is mute at night. I guess I will knock the unaccomodating places off my list now.
Re: Appointments vs Surprise Visit ?
It depends on the place - some require an appointment, others have set hours where it's basically an open house and other's say come by whenever.
