Re: Appraisers
I had mine appraised at Macys. They charge you 1% of the value of the ring

Re: Appraisers
I went to jewelry judge in Mineola. He's been there for 18 years and is really inexpensive and accurate.

Re: Appraisers
Yeah, I got my appraisal from where FH bought my ring. You might want to try one of the stands in Tri-County. I've been going to Turkan my entire life so they are very trustworthy. FH didn't buy my ring from there, but he bought it from a reputable diamond dealer in the Empire State Building.
Just remember, you don't EVER want to let your ring out of your sight. If you go to an appraiser and they want to 'take your ring in the back,' then you don't let them go without you watching. My aunt had a horror story where her ring was appraised and the jeweler took her ring in the 'back room' for 1/2 hour. The next day, her diamond fell out and when they brought it to the jeweler they bought it from to get it fixed, he said that it was not the stone they bought from him! the appraiser had switched the stone!

Re: Appraisers
I got it done by an independent GIA accredited appraiser in NYC. He was very good and on point with the diamond's characteristics without looking at my GIA report. I have the name at home. I'll look it up later.

Re: Appraisers
Our personal jeweler who made my ring appraised it. But it has to be official. And my diamond came with it's GIA Certificate so we sent that in as well.

How much did they charge you to have it appraised by a GIA specialist??

Re: Appraisers
Gennari in Bellmore. The ring never left your sight and it was only $90.
