appropriate amount of time for TY

FH and I went to a wedding in February of this year...one of his high school friends got married. He hasn't really talked to his friend since the wedding, and we still haven't received a thank you card. FH spoke to another friend who went, and said they hadn't received one either. I'm not going to call them and ask 'where's my thank you'' or anything, but hey we did give them 200$ and a thank you would be nice!

I'm just wondering if anyone knows when people usually send out thank yous...are FH's friends incredibly late or is this normal?

I received my thank you from a close friend over a year after his wedding...and it was the standard issue 'thank you for being a part of our day'....we are very close so another friend & I were giving him grief about it, just to bust his chops. But come on, write the things a bit quicker... i think 6 months should be the longest!

Call me old school, but I think anything beyond 2-3 months is inconsiderate and rude. i am planning to get mine out within the month, if at all possible. if you don't send them out quick, people wonder if you even received the cash or gift...and i think it is sooo rude to cash a check and then not send a thank you for weeks and weeks!

I think a thank you should be within 2-3 months also. But my cousin got married last year and she just sent hers out in May so I guess if you got a lot going on in your life but Thank you should be given to your guest. I have been to weddings that I recieved no thank you so I don't know. some others consider TY as a part of your favor.
