Appropriate gift amount for a shower?

I haven't ever been to a shower in my life! (except for the 1 shower I attended as a flower girl.)

FH's cousin is getting married, and his FW's shower is next month. I plan on purchasing a registry gift, but I don't know what is appropriate.

We're not close - I've only met her 3 times - I was thinking $50? Is that cheap? Average?

I think $50 is reasonable if you do not know her that well.

i agree... $50 sounds fine, being that you've only met her a couple of times and aren't close with her....

For our e-party, they never responded and never showed up. Never even sent a congratulatory card!

Maybe I'll get more courtesy for my shower

I was in that situation too, however I didnt go to my FH cousin's shower but I went a gift anyways. I spent about 40 on it.

Yup $50, or go to there registry and get something off of there.

$50 is a good amount to spend on someone that you really aren't that close to.

$50 is absolutely fine especially since you dont know her very well. I usually spend between $75-100 but I have known everyone pretty well.
