April- happy and sad

I love April- always the start of the real Spring weather but always sad when it starts too as my dad passed on 4/1. It's been sevveral years but still hurts and I guess thinking of him a lot more as we plan for the wedding. I know he is with me though and smiling down

I hear ya. my pops passed in March when i was 15 and always around easter or this time of the year, I always think about how it was.

its totally different once Dad is gone. I honestly would never want to go back to that time. On top of being a teenager and being thrown into adulthood so fast, it just straight out s u c k e d.

Aww i'm sorrry. I know how hard it is this May is going to be 2 yrs since my dad passed. I hope it gets a little easier with each passing year . But i'm sure your dad is looking down on you and smiling!

thanks girls it does get a bit easier each year but guess wedding just bringing memories back even more. It's tough but also for my mom too.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It's never an easy thing to cope with especially around this time but the best thing to do is keep your head up because that's what he would want you to do

I dont know about you guys, but I get jealous and upset when girls have the father daughter dance at weddings.

its just not fair. No girl should ever have to lose her Daddy.

I'm very sorry about your dad, I lost my father when I was very young......Just remember he's your Guardian Angel always looking down at you....

I know exactly how you feel. My dad passed away extremely unexpectedly in my house two days after Christmas 2006. Planning this wedding has made me miss him even more. I am very jealous of the girls who get to dance with their father's and have them walk them down the aisle. If you are lucky enough to have your dad around..hug him and tell him everyday that you love him. I didn't get to tell me dad good-bye, I went out that night and then my mom and I discovered him in their bedroom. I miss him so much...

If you want I have a memorial poem that I am going to write in my church programs dedicating the ceremony to him. After FH and I dance our first dance, the band is going to play a memorial song for him and invite everyone up to dance.

I feel your pain..it is like a constant roller coaster of emotions!

I can only imagine how difficult that is. I am sure he is looking down very excited for you and the great things happening - your wedding, etc.

He is probably looking down thinking what a wonderful job he did. He must be so proud of the woman you have become. He will be with you on this special day, but I understand wanting him there with you.
