ARE ALTERATIONS THAT EXPENSIVE

So I went for my first fitting and for the bussel, hemmed on the bottom for both the dress and skirt and taken out a little, it was $233. I couldn't believe how much it was!

Mine are $405 including my slip, not including the HTH I already paid for

ETA: That is taking in the bodice and hips quite a bit and the bustle

Omg......that is so much! My dress alone was $549 not including the veil and tiara.

Alterations are definitely pricey.

Mine aren't bad, but I'm just getting my dress hemmed, adding a 1 point bustle, and having the shoulders shortened a bit

Mine are about $150?

Omg.....I was so upset when they told me how much it was but I'm over it now. We only get married once
They are actually doing 5 buttons for my bussel.......I just can't wait for the actual day! 53 days!!!! Woooooohooooo!

My alterations were $425! That's because she's changing it to be a sweetheart neckline, sewing on a rhinestone belt, adding pick ups, sewing skirt into the dress, bustling and hemming...still seems like a lot!!

Mine came to $150 but I didn't get my dress hemmed. All they did was add the bustle and take the hips in a little.

That's less than I expect to pay... I was capped at $250 for gown alterations, and $250 for the bustle at Village Bridal Boutique in Babylon, HTH

I think that alterations is how they 'get you'. My cap is $595 and that is not including the bustle. The bustle is capped at $295, and I know mine will be a French bustle, so it'll be the full $295. It's pretty ridiculous!

Me too! I got a Monique Lhullier at the trunk show....and the cost of alterations and bustle were almost as much as the discount! But that's what you pay for couture!
