Re: are any of you tossing rose petals and if you are
I used Rose Petals because I saw it at my cousins wedding a loved it. But it did not work as well for me. My aunt made the cones and I gave them to my florist to fill with assorted colors. But the day of the wind was strong, in the opposite direction of us so they all blew back at my guests. It was kind of funny. I had the cones put in two pretty baskets that loved really nice and colorful. I didn't think about the staining aspect. But I did use Black Magic roses in my bouquet and that red rubs off onto clothing. I had to be very careful with my dress.

Karen,
How did your aunt make the cones? I've been thinking of how I could make them but haven't been able to figure it out. Anyone else?

Re: are any of you tossing rose petals and if you are
I am having the bridal party throw rose petals..but my church only allows silk ones to be thrown. So I don't have to worry about the stains. I am making cones from dollies, stolen idea from Sonic (thanks!) I made a pretty basket for them to sit in during the ceremony.

Re: are any of you tossing rose petals and if you are
We used rose petals after the ceremony. They were all different colors, and the florist delivered them in a box. We made the cones out of velum, which looked nice, but I wouldn't recommend them. They were hard to put together, because the paper is so slippery. I think Steph's idea is better.
Our florist gave us 2 baskets to put them in. We filled them at the house the morning of. We filled 100 and it took maybe ten minutes. It was actually calming for me to have something to do :)
We didn't have any problems with staining, and like I said we had all colors.
Hope this helps.
