I'm currently shopping for a new cell phone plan. I was wondering whether or not camera phones are worth the money. Personally I don't really see when I'd use it, but I figured I may be missing something...

I don't think they are worth the extra money. I think because of all the invasion of privacy issues surrounding them, they will eventually be discontinued.

My husband uses his all the time. I didn't think he would but there are many times we wish we could get a picture of something and lucky enough he has his phone.
Most recently we used it when furniture shopping b/c some of the stores didnt have cataloges.

I actually just got one last night..Dh gave it to me as an early birthday present.....and it wasn't all that much money...i think there was a special and it was around $49. The pictures aren't great...but it's handy to have....especially since my digital camera broke on our honeymoon

Re: Are camera phones worth the extra money?
they're not absolutely necessary. i know with my phone the first month or so i was taking pictures of everything. now i dont think i've taken a picture since april.
the pictures aren't the best quality. plus depending on your plan it might cost you a whole lot to send a picture to yourself.
they are handy to have around though, in case of a car accident or something of the sort.
