I really don't see the point. My FH doesn't want to wear them and nor do the groomsmen or bestman. My parents don't care, I'm not sure how the FILs will take it, but I really think they are a waste. Advise? Are there any altertives that are cheaper and aren't flowerly or frilly.

Re: Are Corsages and Bouts really necessory?
I don't see the point either...I am using pocket handkerchiefs in coordinating colors of my bridesmaids or just plain white. I am getting them cheap from wholesale and embroidering groomsmens initials on each one. Bouts and corsages seem to Promish to me.

Instead of corsages for the mothers I'm having them carry a small bo-K of 6 roses each. I was never crazy about the corsage idea for weddings!!

My mom actually likes corsages ( I don't know why but she does). I think the bouts and corsages are nice because they help important family members and bridal party members stand out a little but they definitely aren't necessary. Plus our bouts were thrown in for free so we're going to use them!

I like mini bo-ks for the MOBs and MOGs and grandmothers but I know my mother and FH's mother are too old school so they get corsages. I don't need to hear lip from them. Not to mention, my mother walks with a cane and can't hold on to me, the cane and a bo-k while walking down the aisle.

Totally unnecessary but I just like them. If they weren't my style, I would not feel obligated.

They were necessary for our wedding...but I think you could do without them. Although I despise corsages, so my mom and my MIL carried different small bouquets. My MIL carried a cattalya (sp?) orchid bouquet that was a replica of her wedding day one and my mom carried a bouquet with stargazer lilies.
