Are halls negotiable on prices?

Are halls negotiable on prices?

How negotiable are most halls on their prices? Do you think I would be able to get my hall down to $66pp from $70pp before tax and tip for 60 guests on a Sat or Sun afternoon? We just worked out our budget and that's what we should spend per person to stay in budget. If so how do you go about asking??

I found that it depended on the particular hall. Some halls seemed more willing to work with me. You can always ask them to take some food out of the menu to keep the price down.
Try it...it doesn't hurt to ask!

some halls certainly negotiate & some will refuse. it never ever hurts to ask. i'd just let them know what your exact budget is & ask what you can do to make that happen. besides, a change from 70pp to 66pp is not a major loss for the hall, its a $240 difference for 60 people. to one person it may be alot, but to a hall that's a drop in the bucket.
good luck!

It really depends on the date and demand for your hall.

My hall didn't budge because we were part of their peak season. They knew they would find someone for the price they were quoting.

I think halls are more flexible with # of people and things like switching up the menu vs the actual price per person. That is usually pretty standard.

I never had a problem negotiating at halls and I've seen more than 5 halls. FM me if you have any specific questions!!!

I've negotiated at every hall I've been too (although I still haven't chosen one yet) and I know my sister negotiated at her hall for her wedding as well. We got them to decrease the price by $4/pp and throw in a chocolate fountain for free. It's always worth a shot, what's the worst they'll say, No?

Okay wish me luck ladies. I think I'm going to go there maybe in the next week or two and bring my deposit and if I can get them down to the price I need I'll sign a contract. I may even try for a few extras

Good luck-you should be able to negotiate-I would tell them it is down to them and another place and the other place is $66 pp. Maybe they will match it.

I was able to negotiate with my hall. I told him that I really liked the hall and wanted to book with them-- but the price was an issue. We worked out a better deal-- and I think we were both happy in the end.

That's Lovin Oven for ya! They were entirely non-negotiable with anything and everything...so if you are looking at one of their halls...good luck! Any other place was definitley more than willing to work with us.

We were able to get our minimum lowered from 125 to 100... I was unable to get the price to budge though because of my small #. Having 60 ppl might hurt your bargaining power.

halls usually aren't negotiable with price but u can get them to throw things in like chaircovers/linens, hr longer pastries or a mini to full venetian etc. if they think ur on the fence trying to decide whether u want to even book....thats what i did and my hall threw in a mini venetian, ice sculpture and extra cocktail hr displays

It doesn't hurt to ask. some places with lower the pp price and others won't budge on the price but they'll throw in a whole bunch of extras.

My experience was similar to others. The june sat date limited my negotiation ability, since it was pointed out to me that they could easily get someone with a bigger party (ours will only be about 70 people) to pay full price....

however, you may luck out! Can't hurt to try....

All hall that we went to lowered their price. One hall, a very good one, I might add wondered why were walking out with the deal we were being given. I also have a small guarantee - 80 people - and we negotiated.

You have something good on your side and that is time. You're not getting married until 2009, so that's your power right there. If they don't come down to what you'd like, walk away. Give them time & they will call you to followup.

Good luck to you.

It really depends on the hall. My hall wasn't willing to bring down the price per head without bringing my minimum up. I did get a lot of things thrown in though but they wouln't budge on the price per plate.

Good luck!!!!!!
