I can't find consistent info on the web about this. I'd like to have sparklers lit as we come out of church (it will be getting dark). Does anyone know if they are legal or if we need a permit to use them? If we need a permit, where do we get it from? The Town? County?
TIA!

Re: Are handheld sparklers legal in NYS?
i think sparklers might be town specific... some stores sell them around the fourth of july and i know they aquired them legally since i was ordering for one of the stores...
definitely call the town you are getting married in. also, check with your church because it could be considered a safety/fire hazard and they may not allow you to use them regaurdless of the law

According to fh who is a cop and his friend who manages a restaurant, they are legal and you don't need a permit. Friend says they use them at his restaurant often. I would just ask church or rh if your nervous.
