Are my makeup/hair going to hold up?

Are my makeup/hair going to hold up?

This is a 2-part question

1) When the hair/makeup people come, do they do the bride first or the bridal party?

2) We're taking pics before the ceremony at around 3/3:30 and the ceremony isn't til 7. I'm having airbrush makeup done but I'm a little worried that my makeup and hair aren't going to look as good for the ceremony after being outdoors in July taking pics. How did yours hold up? Do you think I should keep the makeup/hair person there for touch-ups? It's just a lot of extra $$, but now I'm worried.

The hair/makeup people are going to do my bridal party first and then do me (spending 30 mins on the party and 1 hr on me). I was told that my make-up would be layered and my hair would be sprayed a LOT more than on my trial day. And let me tell you, on my trial day, everything held up for several hours, so I'm not worried at all.

Jen,
I wore my make up from my trial for 12 hours (stayed in and read NY Practice all day) and it lasted - I actually had to use the make up remover twice to get the make up off.

As for my hair, its been up since 2 pm today and it has lasted until now (almost 8 pm) as I am sitting in the law review office typing this to you. So 6 hours and not a hair out of place. I think you will be ok, but I would reapply the lipstick a couple of times through out the day.

Im going to have the hair and makeup person do me last also, but Im sure you'll be fine..The makeup for my trial lasted all day long(airbrushing) and I did my trial at 10AM! Even the next morning I was still trying to scrub it off my face!

The hair will also be fine Im sure, Ive had so many people tell me they slept with their
hair-dos and it still stayed put!!

I think you'll be fine. If it makes you feel any better, my hair was done at 5:30am, makeup done at 6:30am and it looked EXACTLY the same when I left my reception at 5pm. I danced, partyed, jumped around, Patken had me all over the floor taking pics. I didn't take my hair down until Midnight on my wedding and it still looked great!

My makeup looked awesome all day! Remember it was done at 6:30am, looked exactly the same as it did at 5pm that it did when the girl put it on.

I would recommend picking up some of those oil blotting sheets, cause the only thing that did happen since I never wear as much makeup as I did on my wedding day, I got shiny. But people kept saying 'Oh you're glowing!'

I was told by my makeup artist she would do my face toward the end. - Personally I wouldn't WANT the hair/makeup person w/ me all day - But I don't like to be primped. I think once it's done, it should stay - you will obviously have to touch up your lipstick or whatever, but you should be fine. -

Jennie-- when I had my make-up trial it look blood, sweat and tears to get the damn stuff off my face! And my hair-- let's just say I am confident it will hold up

the people who do weddings- know what to use so that you look picture perfect all day (and night) long!

It definetly will hold up. I was sweating on my wedding day and my hair and makeup (except lipstick) stayed on unitl I got to the hotel that night at around 1am. I had it done last at around 7am. You will be fine. You will need some powder maybe just for some of the shine.

I know someone that hired their makeup person all day and said it was a waste of money.

Re: Are my makeup/hair going to hold up?

I have a question, I can't seem to get a makeup trial in the morning because of my work. Even if i switch hours with someone, I need to have an appointment between 8 and 9 depending on how far i have to travel to work and I can't find anyone who can do that or does weekend trials. If I get my make up done at 7pm how will i know how long it will actually last? I would have to sleep with it on to see and I really don't want to do that.

Did anyone else go for trials at that time?

Your hair and makeup will stay for sure. You will probably only need lipstick for touchups so try to buy the lipstick from your makeup person. My hair and makeup were done by 8am and aside from lipstick touch ups - both looked great when I got home at 7 pm

Maybe if you go for a trial at 7, you could try going out that night dancing or something where you're moving around a bit--to see how the hair/makeup hold up?

Thanks for all the responses!

That is a good idea, but since it seems to have to be during the week I won't want to go out since I have to get up for work the next day.

Have you contacted Denise from Angel Eyes?
She did my trial on a Saturday morning.
