Re: Are programs a must????
Not sure since Im geting married at the RH, I feel like the ceremony is going to be short. Plus, anytime Ive been to a wedding that has them, the programs are left over on the chairs, floor, etc. Its prob more work and hassle than needed jmo

Re: Are programs a must????
They're definitely not a must, I think it's a personal decision. For me, whenever I go to a wedding and they don't have programs, I 100% notice it. I like having something to read while we're waiting for the processional to start but mostly I like knowing who is in the BP, how they know the bride & groom, and it's also nice for the guests to know what to expect from the ceremony. The explanations of rituals from other cultures, like signing the kettubah, are also really helpful to guests who might not be familiar with it. That's just me though, so I'm definitely doing programs. If it's something you're not really into, then I think it's cool to use that $$ somewhere else.

Re: Are programs a must????
I think for most people they aren't required.
I'm having a Jewish ceremony - it is so different from what people are familiar with that I felt a program was really important. I want everony to know what is going on and why it is happening.
If you are doing a fairly traditional ceremony - than I wouldn't bother.

not a must at all. One of the m ost beautiful wedding ceremonies I have ever been to had no programs. I actually commented that i thought everyone was very 'present' becasue there was nothing to look at besides the bride and groom.

Re: Are programs a must????
i'm doing them... just because i think its nice for people to be able to see whos in the wedding party and see the songs that are being used during the ceremony, etc.... for me, too... my mom made all the dresses ( including mine!!) so its a nice place for me to put a little 'thank you' message to her and let everybody know about her hard work programs also don't have to be expensive.. i'm just gonna get some nice paper from staples and type it up in word and print it out and maybe somehow put a ribbon on it or something
