I have a 22 1/2 lb bird. It says it should cook for 5 -51/2 hours. Does that sound right to you?

Food network has a great site for this question. It depends on a number of variables, such as stuffed or not, fresh or frozen/defrosted. The have the turklator?? It calculates the time perfectly. I will ask when you want to serve dinner and tell you when to put the bird in.

I also love food network. The cooking times really depend on your oven too. Definitely use a thermometer. Make sure the turkey is defrosted completely. That's a big bird!

As long as its fully defrosted, it usually is the average.. Thats a BIG bird.. It also depends on your oven.
