I said I might want to goto the Hamptons for my Bachelorette party my cousin said nothing is haping at the hamptons yet.

Not that I speak from experience, but Memorial Day weekend is the start of the hampton season. It's always been that way!! I know there were plenty of radio stations out there this weekend.

You should also consider a weekend at fire island for your bachelorette party. Either place, fun will be had by all!!

I was going to have my bachelorette party there also and also have a hotel on the beach and make a weekend out if it!
I am actually going out to the hamptons on your wedding day for my friends' birthday!

The Hamptons is definitely hopping already. Memorial Day is the kickoff to summer. Friends were there over the weekend and they had a blast.

On a similar topic - does anyone know what Fire Island is like AFTER Labor Day? My wedding is at the end of September and I want to give my out-of-town guests some suggestions for things to do. I was thinking Fire Island, but I'm afraid it may be totally dead. (I've never been there, so I don't know anything.) Has anyone been over there in late Sept?

I was out there this weekend Sat and Sunday and it was great!!!! It has not been so crowded in years with the economy down and all... There were definately more people around and especially because of the nice weather

I went to a weekend bachelorette party on Fire Island a few years ago - best one I've been to! Nobody has to worry about driving (no cars!) and everyone is so friendly. Had a blast! I highly recommend it.

depends on where you go but in past years, the weekend after labor day is pretty quiet, but after that its totally dead
i love FI and definitely recommend it for a bachelorette party. nothing beats late night dance party at mcguires

weekends are pretty hopping now, always started going this time of the year and had huge lines the weekend after memorial day at most places I remember!

I was home out in Sag Harbor this weekend and it was HOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could hardly drive down Jobs LAne in SOuthampton was so packed and Sag HArbor was PACKED too!!!!

Noooooo it's hopping. I read in NY Post's Hamptons Diary that all the clubs were packed and the cops had alot on their hands. Not that that is good but it's not quiet!
They said in the paper that the Boardy Barn sells more beer in one afternoon than at a Mets baseball game. I believe it too!

a co-worker went to cpi's and he said it was dead this weekend. The high light for me..... At the RIverhead TGIFridays, this kids shirt read 'summer People S U C K Go Home' lol

I had a FI house for 3 summers, so if you go the weekend after Labor Day, it's still hopping because of the Miss Fire Island contest that goes on. Any weekend after that is pretty dead, though. in response to amybride!

i was at home in westhampton this past weekend and it was a total zoo!! so, i can vouch for it being hopping already, definitely. also, i would say that after labor day, it's pretty much dead. but, it could be even better then, because there wouldn't be so many crazy people!

Yes the season has now opened for the summer of 2004!!
