A make-up trial and just having the artist come to do your make-up the day of?
i'm not sure if im gonna have a trial...i dont wear a lot of makeup and i feel makeup is makeup...but im sure when the time comes, ill want a trial!
I didn't but I took a HUGE chance! She was a friend of my mom's and works for MAC, Christain Dior and a few others. Luckly, she did an awesome job.
I think it's pretty risky. While I loved some things about my makeup trial, I didn't like some of the colors or brand of makeup the woman used for other parts of my face. Having a trial allows you to experiment with several colors or looks on a day when you're not rushed for time or stressed out. I wouldn't want to wait until my wedding day to find out how good my makeup artist is, but if she charges a lot for a trial and you're happy with the examples you've seen of her work, then forego the trial.
go for a trial if you can... it also helps with picking out colors that work with your coloring. at the elizabeth arden counter, i picked out what looked like beautiful purple eyeshadow, but on me i looked like a tramp. it would have been scary to have worn that on the big day.
I didn't have a trial. I don't live on Long Island, so I was trying to down extra trips whenever I could. I saw a picture of my mom's hairdresser's daughter & all teh hairdressers in the salon vouched for her so I took a chance. She did me, my mother, MIL, aunt/reader & 2 bridesmaids. Everyone looked great.
