I am still not sure and neither is FH about getting. We have two friends willing to video the day. Are we silly, foolish or crazy?????

Re: Are we nuts to still be considering video?
As long as you have someone you trust who you know will not miss out on video taping the most important parts of your wedding, you might as well save the money and let them do it.

Have you gone to any video appointments or checked out any of the videographers? After I watched wedding videos online (Pennylane and JPI) I was totally sold and had to have one professionally done.

If theyll record it to your specifications, then go for it. But if you're at all hesitant of them doing a good enough job or wanting something more professional, then you know your answer.

Re: Are we nuts to still be considering video?
personally i think everyone should have the video if they can afford it. i know a lot of people who didnt want the video, and now regret it. i also one day would really like to show our kids our wedding day. when fh and i announced our engagement and started planning, my parents broke out their tape one day and we watched it and had a few laughs. i really wanna share that moment with my kids. and even if you dont plan on having kids in the future, you and fh might want to relive the night in the future, and if you dont have the tape, you dont have the option. if youre on the fence about it, then definitly get it because it might be something you regret later. just my opinion anyways.

a lot of people who didnt get video later said they regret not having it. if u have someone u trust who is willing to record ur special day and it will save u money then go for it. but make sure u have some kind of video record of that day...if thats what you want.

that's what i am thinking- it's not a moeny issue per se just wondering if money could be spent elsewhere. the more and more i think about it..... we will probably consider it more

FH didnt care but I ve always wanted it so we were lucky our photo had a great video deal for us too so we went with it!
If the people who said they would do it can be trusted to get all those special moments then go for it! if not a professional one is always a wise investment especially many years done the road!

Re: Are we nuts to still be considering video?
I have to say my whole ilfe is on 8mm and VHS and that is something that I love......I started doing it with my son as well. I love the fact of 'looking back', thanks to my dad. We are getting a video, I had no question with that no matter what the costs were. I definately say do it, it'll be cute when you sit there on your 50th anniversary and giggle.

I have been getting our 8mms put on VHS and then I have to get it done on DVD......I was recently told I can just go straight to DVD. Im sure by then we can edit our DVD to whatever they make then

Some videographer offer coverage and you just get the raw footage. You can edit whenever you want too.

Re: Are we nuts to still be considering video?
I highly recommend having a video for your wedding. Because you and fh will be so caught up in the excitement of your day; their are moments that you will not get to see. But, if you have it on video then you can enjoy it. I personally feel you should get it. You won't regret it
