Are you allowed to deal with more then one realtor?

We are heading back to Florida on monday and meeting with our realtor for the first time, but Dh has been looking through the real estate books and papers and sees some houses listed under other agencies. Do we have our realtor show us those? Or do we call as many realtors as we want?

Are we exclusive to this one guy when we meet him?

Also if we decide we may want to build are we allowed to deal with builders or do we have to have our realtor do it??

you're allowed to deal with all the ones you want!

We're working with about 5 for now....they contact us on the houses, and we then go with them....if more than one realtor calls us on the same house, we go with whoever contacted us first.

You just have to be careful when using a buyer's broker....they are supposed to find you the houses and you work exclusively with them. But the average agent works for the seller and is therefore fair game

Thanks Teri!

I think were gonna stay with our one main guy because he is very friendly with our mortage broker as well as retired USAF so I 'sorta' trust him more.
Were driving over to Florida on monday and meeting with our main guy on tuesday morning I don't think he is a Buyers Broker but he is the Owner/Broker so who knows. I know on some of the relocation websites I saw that if you contacted them you couldn't contact anyone else.
I might try calling some more tomorrow and see what I find out. We pretty much have to find our home and go into contract next week!

It's all very exciting but so rush since we need the military will only store our furniture for a certain time period, and Dh is going away soon.
