Are you doing both escort and place cards?

Just curious if you are doing both or just one?

Only escort cards which I called place cards for a long time until I was schooled by David Tutera.

Escort cards tell a guest which table they are sitting at while place cards tell a guest what seat they are sitting in. We're not having assigned seating, just assigned tables.

Just escort cards. After that there free to sit where ever they like.

LOL i had no idea there was a difference - i wouldn't tell people where to sit at the table - just assign them to the table i want them at.

ummm me too!lol i saw that episode and was like whoa. and im reading his new book which is actually really good, but he brings up this mandatory escort and place card thing and i didnt think most people do place cards

Just escort. I'm going to have enough trouble making seating charts as it is.. and also, WHY on earth do i need to tell people exactly where to sit at a table?

Haha I had no idea before then either! And he was a little harsh on that poor bride! Eh, don't listen to him! You don't need place cards, these people are adults they should be able to figure out where to sit!

I had no idea there was a differnce! Learned something new!! I'll be doing Escort cards then-they can choose where they sit on their own.

oops, i had no idea until now ... i clicked on 'just place cards' but (apparently) i really meant to click on 'just escort cards' no assigned seats ... let them figure it out

Seating people at a table is hard enough I can't imagine trying to pick their seats also

I had no idea there was a difference. Up until now like alot of other people I guess I have been calling escort cards, place cards I'm doing escort cards it will be hard enough assigning tables. I could not even imagine having to assign seats.
