I'm not doing them myself but I found a freelance florist to do them.. so I started looking around for the best prices for flowers. I came across this site that had 'wedding in a box'. I can get 1000 rose, 2 colors for $950.00. She said it was a better deal than she got as a florist. Woo Hoo! So she'll work with me on labor and stuff. I'm so excited to see what everything looks like on the wedding day.
They have many types of flowers and smaller 'wedding in a box' kits. PLUS instructions on how to make your own bouquet.
no i hear it is way to stressful ...its a last minute thing and i dont wanna have to do anything more the last few days b4 the wedding

since i was going to do my own i had done a lot of research on wholesale flowers and ive seen them a lot cheaper for roses. i think for like 250 roses it was going to come to like $250
I am completely clueless when it coms to flowers so I am going to leave it up to the professionals

Re: Are you doing your own flowers?
that is a great idea...never thought of it...I do not need many flowers just my b-k, 3 BM b-ks, and 3 croussages for both moms and one grandma... so it isn't a lot.. so I am probably just going with a regular florist.

Re: Are you doing your own flowers?
I am doing my own CP. I am building flower boxes, painting brown with a blue ribbon and filling with different plants. I want different color and type centerpiece. It is going to have a garden effect. And for 10 centerpieces it should only run $150.

yeah I hear ya ... I did my own cookies as part of the favor for me e-party and as you know you have to wait to make the cookies because you want them to be fresh (just like flowers) and FH was like you couldn't just buy cookies.. because I was rushing aroung the day of because the cookies took up a lot of my time ... so I said for the wedding I am going to make sure I do less stressfull things even though everyone loved the cookies!

yeah dont, it is really stressful...most of these flowers that you get come closed and you have to take great care of them to make sure they bloom and look good. I did this for my e-party and NEVER again, not to mention that you need to transport these flowers there..you dont want to dealwith this the week of your wedding...Not only that but recently an 07 bride did her own flowers and she ended up having to stay up until 4am to do them and then had to wake up early so she hardlly had any sleep
Not only that but i would order a very small amount now, maybe one small box or something with the flowers to see their quality. You want to make sure the flowers actually last, not die right away

Re: Are you doing your own flowers?
No, I'm not doing my own flowers. I definately thought about it though....to save money. I don't want to stress myself out the day before the wedding making centerpieces and then having someone transport them and set them up. I found a great florist that has awesome prices so I'm leaving it up to her, one less thing to worry about. I'm using Designs by Rose. Her prices were a lot cheaper than all the other florists I spoke to, even Burton's.
