are you getting your ushers/readers a gift

i found a knitting kit; it comes with knitting needles, some yarn and and instruction booklet and thought it would be cute to give to one of my readers (she just had a baby). i was thinking maybe she could knit some booties or a scarf or something for her little boy. i know, it has nothing to do with 'reading' but thought it was unique---

we had three readers; one was DH's aunt and the others were my cousin and then a close friend. I got them all gifts from L'Ocittane. Got the aunt a box of pretty soaps; my cousin a lavendar body lotion; my friend some perfume. L'Ocittane wrapped it all so pretty!

That's a cute idea if you know she's crafty. I can't figure out knitting to save the life of me. The closest I came was one of those hook rugs when I was 14

I'm getting my guy reader a set of pilsner glasses, probably with his monogram on them. Or I might get him one of the cuff link sets we're giving to the GM as part of their gift.

omg i used to love hook rugs --forgot all about them LOL , i used to love the potholder maker thing too! lol---I think that is a cute idea for the knitting set--different! We are getting our readers gifts also

My readers are my grandmother and two close friends who are married to each other. We are giving my grandparents a frame engraved with our wedding invitation and a special handkerchief for grandma, the male friend is gettign the same thing as the GM, gift certificate to a local restaurant plus a CD we made of our favorite local bands, female friend is getting silver earrings and CD of a live performance of a singer she really likes that FH recorded for me two years ago. Currently working on the CD artwork....big pain!!
