FH and I want to go to Bicuti Beach in Aruba. They have set prices, so I cant decide if its worth using the T.A. What do you think?

We will be using a TA only cuz I don't feel like making any of the effort of booking both the hotel and flight Besides, our TA is the mom of one of FHs friends, so she'll hopefully get us a deal

No, my dad is getting us our honeymoon as a gift!

I wanted to go with a travel agent because I didnt want to have any headaches. When it comes to a HM I wanted to leave it to a professional and if any issues come up along the way I feel reassured that I can complain to someone else other than FH!

Btw......We went with Liberty Travel and they've been great so far!

Planning on using liberty travel.... but we have not decided on a Honeymoon location yet.. another headache....

I've never used a TA.

I usually find that, in general, they don't really get people a deal and that oftentimes you can get a better price on your own. I know I tried several TAs when booking a European vacation and I was being quoted about $2,500 more than if I did it all on my own. So, I booked the same hotels with all the same things and a better flight for MUCH less.

i was going to do it myself bc when searching i found better prices. I did speak to 2 TA's and they were quoting me more than what i found, and also they werent listening to what i wanted and kept wanting to push their own places on me

MIL told me to just try the guy they use at work and i was surprised that he was able to get us everything for even less than what i found on my own and by alot. I thought i found real cheap flights but the price we paid for both of us combined is what i found for just one of us. He did listen to what i wanted and it was great.

ALSO it was great bc he also set up car service for us, they picked us up from each airport, they were waiting inside with signs for us, and also picked us up from the hotels, we went to more than 1 location.

Also, dh's luggage was lost on the way back, its been 3 months and they still havent found it. He set us up with travel guard and they are handling everything for us and now we're gonna get money from them.

For regular trips i would do it myself or depending where i go. Places like vegas and some islands i would do myself.

Since we went to europe i wanted to make sure that incase anything happened i can call the TA to take care of it. If there was gonna be a problem with flights he can get us on the next one right away.

After what happened to us 2 years ago when we went on a cruise, i realized for certain trips you should use a TA. There was a problem with the ship and we left 2 days later than we were supposed to, but at first we werent sure when it was going to leave, we went with DH's family and his mom called the TA and had us booked in cabo, mexico at a hotel the same day we found out the cruise was late and just in case it wasnt going to leave by friday we said we're gonna go to cabo instead. But once the cruise was back on and it did leave on friday actually, the TA handled it all herself and had cancelled cabo and left us back on the original plan to go on the cruise. If we would've had to do all this ourselves it probably would've been the biggest PITA and we were already dealing with enough. We didnt know what was going on with our vacation or when and if we were gonna even go, and on top of that in queens we had a black out that lasted 9 days. So we would've lost it to also deal with it hahaha
