I am not sure what to do??? We are paying for 75% of our wedding and not sure if we should do something. Maybe a frame???
My parents are paying for my sisters wedding this year too so it is a burden on them that I decided to get married too. They thew me a nice shower, paid for my dress, band (big help), and flowers...as well as listened to me talk/call every single day about wedding stuff! LOL!
OK one more thing..do we get Future inlaws a gift? They are contributing a little....like rehearsal dinner. AND WHAT ARE YOU GETTING? Help?

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
My parents have helped us out tremendously w/ everything, works out to like 60% them, 40% us.
My mom has done so much. I was thinking about getting them both my family and FH's family trees from Red Envelope. And then getting my mom and extra something special from Tiffany's.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
We are paying for our wedding, but I still want to get our parents gifts. They've been so supportive of us, so it would be our way of thanking them. Not sure what to get them yet.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
I am giving my parents a few nights at a hotel out east and dinner there. And we are giving FH's parents something too - they are paying for our band, some flowers, and the RD - but I am not sure what!

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
My parents paid for almost our entire wedding so we got them a new TV as a thank-you gift! They really did go out of their way to give us anything and everything we wanted, so we wanted to give them something really great. DH's parents helped out a lot too (RD, favors, and his mom helped SO MUCH since she works at the bridal salon we used) so we got them tickets to see Jersey Boys on Broadway. DH and I are going too, so it will be a whole day thing... the show and dinner in the city. Pretty nice gift if I do say so myself!!!

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
Our parents and FILs each paid for about a third of the wedding. . . . .
We are giving them parent albums and some small gifts on top of that.
My parents we are prob getting my mom a figurine and my dad a frame, his parents something similar, maybe a gift card to their fav restaurants.
They did a lot for us, we want to thank them.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
We gave parent gifts. My dad paid for most of the wedding and DHs parents paid for our cake and the rehearsal dinner.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
We gave the parents a gift We spent 100 on his parents in the form of a gift card
and since my parents are divorced we spent 100 on my mom and 100 on my dad in forms of giftcards we knew they would like
Let me tell you, they had no idea, and were not expecting anything at all, they were sooo happy we got them something. They were like we never heard of this before. we gave it at the rehersal dinner

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
we paid for our wedding ourselves, except for my dress - that my dad bought. but the ILs lent us the funds we needed, interest free, so that was a huge help. they also bought a LOT of stuff from our registry for us, so we bought them a small flat screen TV (which they made us return). we did give each set of parents an 8x10 frame for our wedding picture, plus parent albums.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
Yes, to me parent gifts are important whether or not they are contributing. My parents didn't give a penny and I am giving them a gift to say thank you for helping to mold me into who I am today. Without their input, guidance and support for all these years, I may have been a different person than I turned out to be, and may not have met FH or fell in love with him. So, despite their lack of financial contributions, our parents have given us more than any one night could cost. All four of ours are getting gifts.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
We are considering a trip for my parents since they are paying probably 60% of the wedding. A small trip, a few nights out of state or a night in the city to eat, sleep and see a show.
FH parents: not contributing money but contributing their time so probably a gift card to a nice restaurant or play tickets.
Still considering my options...this is a hard one though.

Re: Are you giving your parents a gift?
I'm thinking of getting my parents tickets to a broadway show and an american express GC to cover their dinner that night. FIL's are getting lumps of coal.
