are you happy about NOT asking someone to be in your BP?

i was considering asking my friend to be a BM but considering how flaky she is lately, i'm SOOO happy i didn't. We see each other once a year (if that) and only ever talk on AIM (and even those are generally short conversations). She didn't come to my e-party, and won't be coming to my shower. She said she'll make the wedding though i have a feeling she'll have to leave early (she said she has to go out of town on business that night)

i'm sooo glad i didn't ask her to be a BM.

what's more is that when i first got engaged, she offered to help me DIY my flower CPs .... thank God i said no because i'd be stuck doing that on my own!

so how bout you guys .... who are you happy about not inviting into your BP?

creeper-FSIL once said that FH and I's relationship was 'an abortion'.

which doesn't even make sense, but it's a moron's attempt at being offensive ... which, it still was.

wow - what the ef!? she sounds like a dumba$$

I unfortunately learned the hard way and asked everyone I knew could potentially be a problem and had three girls flake out on me.

I hate some people.

Absolutely.

My BP is small. My sister is my MOH and my best friend is my BM.

That's it.

I don't like relying on people for things; I'd rather not set myself up for disappointment and anger.

omg, my FSIL guilted her way into being in my BP. We work together, so she b!tched to everyone here about how I hadn't asked her to be a BM. I had ZERO plans to ask her. We don't get along all that great and besides the fact that our spouses are related, we have nothing in common. Well, everyone at work was on me about how 'bummed' she was about not being a BM and how I was 'wrong'. I didn't wanna hear it any more and asked her. Get this, then she told me she would 'think about it'. She told me Yes 3 weeks later. Urghhhh I hate her sooo much sometimes! I regret even being guilted into it. She has been nothing but a pain in my a$$ since I asked her.

arghghghghghghg

ETA, woops I read your question wrong, but thanks for the vent! I would have been very happy if I didn't ask her!

Definitely. My freshman year roommate and I were very close for a long time...she moved back home to Rochester but we've kept in touch, although she's definitely been flaky. She's got a boyfriend in Brooklyn so I figured she'd use the excuse to come to my shower and bparty and stuff...but nope. She can't be bothered I guess. I really thought we had a different sort of friendship than we actually do...but I guess its good I got married first because now i know I don't have to go out of my way to make it up to Rochester for her shower or bparty (which I would have done at a moment's notice were the situations reversed).

I thought at one point she was going to be my MOH...and then I thought at least she'd be a BM...but I didn't ask her and I'm glad I didn't. I've only got 3 girls and they have never let me down and never would.

yep...everyone! I'm opting for NO BP other than my best friend as my MOH and FBIL as the best man. everyone else will be drama and I don't wanna end up on the news for killing them.
