Did you/are you having a memory candle and a unity candle? Or are you just using the unity candle and having something said about those who are no longer here?

No, instead I am leaving my mother's chair empty, detaching part of my bo-kay (it will be tied with a ribbon so it is easily detachable) and leaving it on her empty seat.

we are having a memory candle for my mom and are going to have something said about her. I love the empty seat with a rose isea but my dad is remarried so cant do it

WE are having a unity candle at the ceremony, and also having a memory candle with my FH's father's name engraved on it. It will sit on our table next to a vase with a single rose. We were thinking about doing the empty seat, but his mother thought that it would be too painful to sit next to it. We want her comfortable and able to have a good time. Also, we are putting a message on the back of our programs in remembrance of our loses.

FH's father passed away should we just put FH's father's name on the candle or grandparents too. I guess maybe just his father right?
