Are you having a Ring Bearer/Flower Girl at your wedding?
ok I am a total idiot when it comes to this but no one on my family or FH's family has young girls in the age 3-8 range so I had not planned on having a flower girl/ring bearer girl walking down the aisle throwing petals or the wedding bands...
so now my mom says she talked to a co-worker who has a 5 year old daughter and she said she would be happy to let me 'borrow' her daighter for my wedding...
I'm not sure what to say about this - is this ok? is it too tacky? if I dont have a FG at my wedding, who would hold the wedding bands for the ceremony? I am just so lost!!

I'm having 2 ring bearers and no flower girls. You don't have to have either.

We didn't have a ring bearer or a flower girl, we could have used DH's niece and nephew but we didn't want to have to bother with having kids in the bp it would have been too much. We had the best man hold the rings for the ceremony and it worked out fine

The RB doesn't actually hold the rings... the best man does.
So if that helps you not worry about it, that's a good thing.
We only had a FG & RB because DH's niece was 1 1/2 and nephew was 3 1/2 for our wedding. I wouldn't borrow a child just to play dress-up. I'm sure you have enough people close to you to make up the wedding party that it won't matter at all.
Honestly IMHO... all kids do is take some attention away from the rest of the bridal party... keep all the attention to yourself if it isn't someone important to you that you'd be sharing any of the spotlight with.

I'm not having a BP at all. FH will hold both rings. I want all the attention on us.

I am having 1 of each but my sister had her wedding 2 years ago without any. It was fine! Her MOH held her 1 ring and the BM held the other. I wouldn't have some random kid for the sake of having one...especially when its a kid that you don't really know and isn't related in some way. JMO.

I have 4 FGs, no RB. Honestly, I wouldnt just go out and find a little girl or boy just for the sake of having a FG or RB. Just do without one.

I agree. If you have little ones in your family or close friends have kids thats one thing if you wanna incoorporate them into your wedding, but I def wouldnt just use someones kids just to say I had a FG and RB. Its not necessary. its not gonna make or break your wedding.

The only reason we are having a flower girl is because FH has a 7 year old daughter. Otherwise I don't think we'd have either. No RB because there are no little boys in my life.

We were thinking about having them, but then decided not to. We'll have the best man hold the rings.

I am having 2 flower girls and no ring bearer. I think it just depends on what is better for your situation. I don't think it's really tacky if you 'borrow' her, but I don't know if it would really be as special, you know?

i have 2 flower girls & a ring bearer. they are my niece & nephew.
i have heard of people 'borrowing' young children but its really a personal choice. to be honest if i didn't have nieces or a nephew then i wouldn't ask just anyone to do it. it means a lot to included them in our wedding & its also great to hear about the wedding from the kids point of view. i do have friends with young children who i would ask if i was in a different situation.

If the girl isn't close to you then I personally wouldn't do it.
I have 3 fg's (2-7yrs, 1-10) and 1 rb (5)

I think that's kind of weird. I'd just skip having them altogether. There's no little boys in our families, so we're not having a ring bearer, but we are having two FGs.

My 4yr old daughter is my fg my 2 year old nephew is the ring bearer but u don't have to have any I've been to plenty of weddings with none

you don't HAVE to have one.
in fact, i'd say that unless you really want one... it's silly to 'borrow' one. cuz if you borrow her kid, she will have to be invited to the wedding to watch her?
just skip it.

i think it would be a little awkward to have a little girl in your wedding party that you dont even know, jmo

We are having my niece as the FL and FH nephew as the RB. They will be 3 at the wedding. This is just me, but I would want someone that I have somewhat of a relationship with in the wedding. I wouldnt feel comfortable borrowing someone's child. Ifv we didnt have a niece and nephew it wouldnt have even dawned on me to just not have a FG or RB,
