We're going to eat ours on the one-month anniversary, instead of letting it sit in the freezer for a year.

I dunno. The bakery doing our cake is close to us...so maybe we'll just get them to make us a new one for our anniversary

We're keeping it for the one-year...
I think I see about 50/50 with the newlyweds who either say it is completely nasty or surprisingly good!!

It's in my freezer in the box, then wrapped in plastic. I don't foresee it tasting good at all. I think we will take one spoonful out of tradition in a year, then throw it away...

Re: Are you keeping the top of your cake?
I just ate mine after a year.
If you put in the freezer wrapped in saran wrap and then in a tupperware container it will not be freezer burned.
Ours tasted fine. A little dryer than the day of but by no means DRY!
It was fun to pull it out and we fed it to each other....just another fun thing to celebrate 1 year

ITA! I'd probably forget at the one year anniversary anyway. Or FH would probably throw it out like he does with everything else.

My birthday is May 30 (wedding is May 15), so I think we're going to eat it then.

Now that I'm thinking about it more...there's really no way we can keep it. We aren't going home until later the next day, it just won't keep...maybe we'll eat it later on that night haha.

yes - we'll prob eat it for our one-year anniversary UNLESS we move again, in which case we'll just eat it before we move!

Re: Are you keeping the top of your cake?
we put ours in the freezer. we're gonna eat it on our 1 yr anniversary.
We gave it to my parents and my mom gave it away to a few of the family members who came to our wedding..LOL. I honestly could care less b/c I didn't plan on saving it in the freezer for a year..I probably would have thrown it away pretty soon.

I let it freeze first and then I saran wrapped that thing. We may eat it next year and then I'll probably puke.

I think we are keeping it for one day and probably eat it the next day.
I hate leftovers that have been left in the frig for over two days, so thinking about the top of the cake sitting in my freezer for a year....I think hell no!!!!
